I paint nests because not only are they delicate and naturally sculpted, but they’ve come to symbolize home; whether for newlyweds building a home together or for parents becoming empty nesters, a painting of a nest acknowledges the love those put into building their homes and supporting their families.
This Thanksgiving, there is so very much to be thankful for at my home. My father is still with it at 94, our three children will all be home, and we have plenty to eat, drink, and celebrate.
Beyond my immediate family, I am grateful for the opportunity to continue learning with and from my art family who share my passion. I’m very lucky to be surrounded by like-minded artists who happily sit and talk about art throughout the night. I continually learn from them, so thank you, fellow artists, for all you give and share. I look forward to the coming year and the journey ahead.
