Springtime Signs in the South

Easter is upon us, daylight savings time is back, the jonquils have bloomed and the peonies are beginning to push through the dirt, the birds are chirping, and the sun is shining. New life abounds. And I count my blessings.

Paint Beautiful Florals with Me

I am excited to teach a full-day oil painting workshop in Boone, NC this summer. I hope you can join me in the very cool renovated gallery space at Common Good Co. I am looking forward to making new friends, demonstrating how I start a painting, giving individual attention and sharing my thoughts on painting florals. For all the details click here.

Charleston: My Favorite Art Galleries

Nearly every year, I take a "girls trip" with my Myers Park high school friends. This year we overnighted in Charleston before heading to the calm of the coast. Like true friends, they followed me around to some of my favorite galleries. If you get the opportunity, visit: Meyer Vogl, Horton Hayes (Mark Horton was in the gallery studio, so got to visit with him:), LePrince, Anglin Smith and Principal. What a fun city with so much to do... oh! did I mention the restaurants/food!?

That "Hard To Buy For" Friend

I am fortunate to have the opportunity to paint commissions for clients. Usually they are Wedding/NewHome/Christmas/Birthday gifts. If you have a "hard to buy for someone," think about a personal painting. This is one gift you can't really purchase at the shop.

Two of My Favorite Things: Family and Travel

We just returned from Manhattan, NY visiting our son, Ryan, who recently moved there. A whirlwind of a visit with theater, art, food and of course, shopping. It is easy to rack up the steps in the city! Hamilton, The Whitney, the Edge (a 100 story high observation deck), the West Side Highway and the High Line. I am excited to travel and paint abroad in late spring, but I will save that for the next update.

Thank You So Much for Following Along With Me
